Florian S.23

Frankfurt, Germany

I have been an enthusiastic programmer since I was a small kid and spend most of my free time working on small projects if I am not riding my bike. I published my first app in the App Store in 2021 and now have three apps published. My biggest project is my app WhaleDeck, which is a Docker management tool for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. I have a BSc in applied computer science, focusing on privacy and security, and soon will complete my MSc.

Scholarships

Florian has been awarded a WWDC scholarship two times. Here are the submissions that got him there.

In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Florian describes his winning submission.

The app is called SecureGuard. SecureGuard is an app that teaches light privacy and security fundamentals. To teach them, I designed multiple sections with small teaching lessons. The user must find the potential attack within these lessons and the reason for his choice. A final challenge tests all the knowledge the user has learned so far through more advanced levels.
