In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Laila describes her winning submission.
The app follows the journey of an elderly widow who lives in loneliness. For the user's experience, she participates in a day of social activities and, through them, finally finds herself happy. The activities include a poker game, a dance party and a karaoke session. For these, I used technologies such as SwiftUI, CoreMotion and AVFoundation. At the end, a sheet view is presented to raise awareness about the physical and mental health damages caused by a solitary lifestyle.
