My goal is to specialize in Bioinformatics and work on projects that bring computer science and biology together. My main areas of interest are genetics, oncology, front-end development, game development and I also like literature.

In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Gustavo describes his winning submission.
My app aims to teach basic cellular biology concepts through an interactive environment containing a simulated eukaryotic cell, later, it turns into a lesson about how cancer cells work and the mechanisms our body uses to identify and eliminate them. Everything in the cell is movable, and tries to replicate the physics you'd usually see while analyzing one in a microscope, to really get the user immersed in the experience.
