Hello, I'm Irene Lay, but you can call me Rene. I recently graduated from the Apple Developer Academy as a Product Designer and am currently on the lookout for new opportunities. With a background spanning fashion design, graphic design, and creative direction, my journey has now led me to the dynamic field of product design. Irene has been awarded a WWDC scholarship in 2023. Here is the submission that got her there.
In 2023, applicants were tasked with creating a Swift Playgrounds app project on the topic of your choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Irene describes her winning submission.
I use swift to code this project. This game teaches kids to collect and categorize trash around them correctly. By clicking the trash, kids can move the trash to the bin with vertical animation. If they choose the wrong trash, there will be a reaction to tell them. Every time they clean up the current location, they will be picked up and continue their trip to another location. They also can see their progress through the journey map inside.
