In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Tiffany Angela describes her winning submission.

“Warm Winter” shows how penguins, as well as humans, might lose our homes if global warming continues and how we could survive by ‘avoiding’ greenhouse gases and ‘collecting’ solutions like planting trees and using alternative energy. It is a survival game, where the penguin needs to stay above the ice rink, avoiding it from drowning. The falling items will affect the environment as the penguin needs to collect the right items. All the components (art, bgm, sfx, etc.) of the game is self made :D
