New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Milena describes her winning submission.

Curl U emerged as a way to share the journey of hair transition, a challenging process for many, especially for women, in terms of self-confidence. I chose to explore significant moments in hair transition in my Playground, such as the decision to abandon straightening products, learning to style natural hair, and saying goodbye to the last straightened parts of the hair. I wanted to create an app that connects people to the important message it represents.
