In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Pahala Yuda describes his winning submission.
Batak is one of the largest ethnic groups, population-wise, in Indonesia. But as more of us youngsters scatter to different cities, even abroad, a bunch of us lose touch with the Batak language. And don't get me started on the script – many forget about it altogether. I created the HORAS! with the purpose of preserving Batak culture among young people and introducing it to the world, starting with teaching the Batak Toba script.
