Hello 👋🏼, I’m Thales Araújo. Currently, I’m studying Computer Engineering at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) and working as an iOS developer at the Apple Developer Academy in Manaus. I’m passionate about sports, especially volleyball, and I’m also a big enthusiast of the Rubik’s Cube. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym and discovering new burger places in my city.
Thales has been awarded a WWDC scholarship in 2025. Here is the submission that got him there.
In 2025, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Thales describes his winning submission.
The EyeCube aims to make the Rubik’s Cube accessible to people with reduced mobility who face challenges when solving the cube in the traditional way. With the EyeTracking technology from iOS, users can control a virtual Rubik’s Cube simply by using their eye movements, in a way that is easy, intuitive, and accessible. This allows users to solve the cube in an alternative way and provides the opportunity to take up a new hobby.
